SHUT UP SHUT UP GO AWAY

mood: irate & nostalgic. irate & nostalgic.

there must be at least twenty people outside my room, judging from the noise they're making. the guy who used to stay opposite my room was bad enough with the noise and I was quite glad when he moved out last week, but then some new guy moved in for summer school and he's even worse. what also makes it worse is that they all have horrible drawly american accents I hate it horribly. ugh. standing in the immigration queue in stansted in front of this group of annoying american girls talking loudly with their awful accents made me realise I cannot do my masters in america leh. I'd rather go to beijing than have to tolerate the worst of the accent for a whole year. I realise I am being very vehement and vitriolic but I DON'T CARE I DON'T CARE I DON'T CARE (for now). sigh I need much louder music to drown them out.

I have been easily extremely irritated the past few days, have you noticed?

on the other hand I'm not going to be here for much longer. but that itself makes me kind of sad because for the better part of a year this room in this hall has been my own personal space and I feel a certain sense of attachment to it. the people that have made my hall experience are all gone now (except for one), then again I'm used to being the latest. all in all I am going to miss my room ):

it's okay I'm used to YOUR drawl :P haha plus you occasionally lapse into extreme singlish anyway so that offsets everything!

Your room in London has more stuff on the walls than my room in Singapore!

Watchmennnn

yeah my least favourite accent is the american one... some versions at least.

it has a lot more stuff on the walls than MY room in singapore too! haha. I put so much stuff up because 1) I got corkboards so no need for pesky bluetack and 2) makes me feel more at home and less homesick haha.

yeah I think it's just the more southern drawl I can't stand, cos I watch american television programmes and be perfectly okay. or maybe just the deliberately lazy kind, like they're not making any effort to enunciate and are just verbally slouching along!

watchmennn! haha.

I suggest NOT going to Norway, my extensive research suggests a correlation between Norwegian boys and ugly DC accents. Blecccch.

ALTERNATIVELY YOU COULD USE MY NEW SMART STRATEGY I have recently realised that the key to avoiding american accents is to learn not-English and make everyone talk to you in that. Cos you know even if they have carefully learnt a nice American accent in english it goes away in Hungarian! Hee. Though you definitely don't want to talk to Americans in Hungarian cos Hungerican will just depress you with its not-correct-ness.

yeah that is my helpful suggestion for today.

I regret to bring news that when some Americans speak French it is really really quite terrible o_o

of course, the same will probably apply to me next year when I waltz into elementary Chinese with my singlishy + indianny + american slangy (like dude/cool etc etc) + leetspeek + "quaint british phrases" (I said swimming costume once and about a thousand of my hallmates said OH SO CUTE HAHAHAHA ;_;) way of speaking lolz.

whoa that is so cool! ahah love the color coded files (uses american spelling, lol)

ahah i'm hanging out with white people in italy who dislike excessive drawliness.. one of them is so sad that the rest of the world hates americans. sadly the noisy ones are the ones whom people get most of their idea of america from!

aww ): haha I'm glad get to use the spelling I grew up with :D would feel so weird changing to an entirely different system. and yeah I deliberately used one colour for each of the (four) modules I take :D pretty popular files for the win.

it just wasn't the same anymore! all sorts of students on exchange living there, families and old people on holiday wandering around the corridors and no familiar faces around. :/ and I'll definitely miss it even in my new house haha the college hall facilities and furniture etc were so much better lol. the price for living in luxury!
